Meet Lydia Harris

RN, Author, Certified Case Manager, Entrepreneur, & Care Coach

I am the Owner and Chief Empowerment Officer of The Entrepreneurs' Garden, LLC, aka TEG. This is where I coach healthcare professionals to become published authors, deliver fascinating talks, make mindful, holistic choices, and start small side businesses for fun, legacy, and profit.

My first business, Resolutions, was launched in November 1995 as my private case management practice. For ten years, I evolved and grew as the healthcare system did. Then, moving from Michigan to Florida led to my return to conventional employment and the birth of TEG in 2008.

I love the flexibility and opportunity I have as a Registered Nurse Case Manager. Over the years, I have served my community with expertise in healthcare system navigation for patients, insurance companies, governments, and medical providers. I seemed to also specialize in catastrophic cases (traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury), which were costly, challenging, and life-changing.

In 2008 I discovered entrepreneurship to help my sons create "income streams" besides my purse. The process fueled the writing of my first book, How You Gonna Pay for Those Shoes, documenting the entrepreneurial journey with my youngest son motivated by the love of Air Jordan sneakers. He learned how to make money and grow a closet filled with Air Jordans that his mother would not buy for him. He now teaches his son the principles of business ownership. I am beyond proud!

Back to me. Employed or self-employed, I have served in most arenas where case management exists. From Auto insurance to Worker's Compensation, I have gathered over three decades of experience with insurers, rehabilitation groups, TPAs (Third Party Administrators - they handle claims), hospitals, attorneys,  and for private paying clients. The common thread is that I am a fierce patient advocate and nurturing Care Coach.

The Write Your Book, 101 Webinar

People tell me they start writing a book as it is on their bucket list. The story gets long as they reflect on why the book is incomplete.

I found a few strategies that helped me write my books and wanted to share them in the most time conducive format. As a graduate of Smith Corona to Microsoft and Mac, the webinar format makes it easy.

Write Your Book, Webinar 101 is an introductory exploration of the author's journey, from ponder to publish. You will learn the required ABCs (Actions, Benefits, and Considerations) that set the stage for your success.
